Course Overview

Psychology is the scientific study of the mind and behaviour, exploring how people think, feel and act across the lifespan. You will study topics such as how babies learn, how mental abilities change as people grow older, personality types, social group behaviour and psychological disorders. The course develops essential skills in critical thinking, problem solving, data analysis and clear scientific communication, and you will learn how to plan, carry out and analyse your own research project.

You will also study one French module per semester. You can continue this language from where you left off at Higher/A-level, or take our intensive programme if you are a beginner.

This programme is available as both an an MA and a BSc, with the MA route ideal if you are looking for greater flexibility and have a strong interest in arts and social science subjects. In Scotland, an MA is an undergraduate degree and is the same level as a BSc in other parts of the UK.
