Course Overview

Develop a deeper understanding of crime, justice and social issues through a postgraduate degree focused on contemporary criminology and criminal justice. This course explores the social, political and psychological factors influencing crime while encouraging critical analysis of justice systems and policy responses. Students will study areas such as criminal behaviour, policing, social justice, victimology, rehabilitation and criminal justice policy while developing advanced research, analytical and communication skills. Teaching combines academic theory with practical application to help students understand real-world challenges facing justice systems globally. Graduates will be prepared for careers in criminal justice, policing, public policy, rehabilitation services, research and wider public sector organisations. This course also offers the opportunity to undertake a Professional Experience Year, giving students the chance to gain valuable industry experience, develop professional skills and apply their learning in a real-world working environment before graduation.
