Course Overview
The International Year One in Computing develops your knowledge of computer science, programming and software development while strengthening your academic and practical skills for university study. You will gain experience in problem-solving, data management and modern computing technologies, preparing you to progress to the second year of your chosen degree.
After successful completion, you can continue your studies in areas such as computer science, software engineering, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, games development or data science, leading to careers across the global technology sector.

Academic qualifications for Bangladesh
HSC (4.0 GPA or above) will be considered for direct admission to Bachelor’s degree courses
or HSC Student (below 4.0 GPA) – plus 1 year Foundation Programme or must obtain a two-year Bachelor’s degree (Pass) or HSC GPA 3.0+ followed by 2yr Diploma GPA 3.75 (but will consider 3.5 case by case)
Qualifications from some institutions may not currently be accepted for entry. Please contact our Admissions Team for advice on your eligibility before submitting an application.
Applicants from the Sylhet region (including Habiganj, Moulvibazar, Sunamganj, and Sylhet) must provide a UKVI Approved SELT. Other English language qualifications cannot be accepted.

Payment of Tuition Fees – Pathway Study Your offer letter shows an initial fee that confirms your place on your chosen study preparation course and a link to Flywire so that you can make a secure payment. This initial fee is an instalment towards the overall cost of tuition fees for your study preparation course and includes a one-time non-refundable administration fee. After your CAS Letter has been issued, and before arrival or registration, you must pay your remaining first-year tuition fees in full. Progression degree study is paid separately upon completion of your study preparation course. |

- Overall average of 65% in the end of programme results at BUIC
