Course Overview
This degree provides a strong foundation in microbiology and biotechnology, exploring how microorganisms are used to develop new technologies that benefit health, industry and the environment. You will study key topics such as medical, food and environmental biotechnology, while developing practical laboratory and analytical skills essential for scientific research and innovation.
The course combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on learning, giving you experience in experimental techniques, data interpretation and problem solving. You will also have the opportunity to gain employability experience through volunteering or placement options. By the time you graduate, you will be prepared for a wide range of roles in research, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, healthcare and environmental science.
