Course Overview

This concentration challenges students to think, speak, and write about film and culture and film history while considering theoretical approaches to film making. To see examples of student work in this concentration visit Mercy Cinema Studies. You will have the opportunity to study films and how they reflect the broader culture. Additionally, students also explore how films have influenced society throughout history in various world cultures from Hollywood and beyond. This concentration engages students to think, speak, and write about film/culture and film history while considering theoretical approaches to film making. The Media Studies program is designed for the student who works well in a communal environment and is interested in sharing ideas to facilitate a creative experience.
