Course Overview

Geography explores the relationships between people, places and dynamic environments at local, national and global scales. You will study major global challenges such as climate change, sustainability and inequality, while developing practical skills in problem solving, communication and data analysis. This flexible degree allows you to specialise in Human Geography, Physical Geography, or a combination of both, with teaching shaped by active research in areas such as environmental change, natural hazards, landscapes, and geospatial and digital methods including GIS and remote sensing, with a strong focus on hands-on learning and applying geography to real-world issues.

The MA (Hons) option allows you to combine your compulsory modules with arts and social science subjects such as History, English, Geography, Politics, or Psychology. In Scotland, an MA is an undergraduate degree and is the same level as a BA in other parts of the UK.
