Course Overview

Politics explores the major issues and debates that influence how societies are governed and how decisions are made. This degree gives you a strong understanding of the British political system, while also introducing you to global perspectives through optional modules in areas such as Russian, Irish, and Middle Eastern politics.
You will examine the ideas that underpin political theory, human rights, and international relations, and learn to analyse real-world issues such as conflict, inequality, and global cooperation. Throughout the course, you will develop the ability to think critically, evaluate evidence, and construct persuasive arguments—skills that are valuable in a wide range of careers.
