Course Overview

We live in a world where business operations are increasingly global in scale, with national boundaries mattering very little to decisions about where goods are made and services are provided. This course examines what this reality means for today’s international business environment.

The programme has economics at its core, covering essential microeconomic and macroeconomic principles. However, it is deliberately broader than a standalone economics degree, analysing the major external factors affecting global business, the processes of globalisation, and applied policy considerations in an interconnected world.

The main differences are at Levels 1 and 2. The MA option is designed for those seeking greater flexibility and who have a strong interest in arts and social science subjects. Alongside compulsory international business modules, you can study a broad range of disciplines including History, English, Geography, Politics, or Psychology. The BSc provides a more focused, business oriented pathway from the outset.

A distinctive element of this course is the integrated study of Spanish. You will study one Spanish module per semester every year, choosing either a beginner pathway or an intensive level if you have previously studied the language at Higher or A-Level.
