The Master of Science (MS) degree program is intended for persons having an accredited baccalaureate degree in mechanical engineering but is available to those with other backgrounds. Applicants with other backgrounds may need to take some undergraduate coursework to meet pre-requisites for graduate courses. Students interested in the MS degree program should consult the Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

Global requirements

Each graduate programme has specific program requirements for subjective and objective review. Refer to the individual program to view the minimum GPA requirements. Certain GPA’s qualify a student for Objective review/decision. Additional lower GPA’s require subjective review and could still qualify a student. Some graduate programs have additional pre-requisites which will be confirmed to you as part of your admissions counselling. Please supply certified translated transcripts from all previous colleges and universities attended documenting an accredited 4-year degree or equivalent. Program minimum GPA for subjective review:
Master of Science in Accounting and Analytics (STEM) = 2.75 GPA
Master of Science in Business Analytics (STEM)  = 2.75 GPA or 2.5 GPA will be considered with a relevant degree or 4-5 years of industry experience
Master of Science in Bioengineering (STEM)  = 2.75 GPA
Master of Science in Chemical Engineering (STEM)  = 2.75 GPA with experience
Master of Science in Civil Engineering (STEM)  = 2.5 GPA
Master of Science in Computer Science (STEM) = 2.75 GPA
Master of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering (STEM)  = 2.5 : 2.75 with industry experience or significantly higher performance in their final 3-4 semester or 2.25 : 2.5 must have 5+ years industry experience
