Course Overview
What makes Winchester different is its authentic approach to learning. Your lecturers aren’t just academics – they’re magistrates, former prisoners, ex-police officers, and victim sector professionals who bring real-world insight into every seminar. In the close-knit criminology family, you’ll be known by name, supported by the same personal tutor for all three years, and challenged to think critically about justice, ethics, and social change.
The contemporary curriculum tackles the issues that matter most right now – from digital crime and AI in policing to global organised crime and social justice. You’ll use professional crime mapping software, investigate cybercrime cases, and explore how inequality shapes criminal behaviour. Every module prepares you for the rapidly evolving world of criminal justice where digital literacy and ethical reasoning are essential.
