Your route to study at university
To apply to study abroad you must graduate high school or your country equivalent. To ensure you do have the necessary academic requirements visit our entry requirements tool.
Study a degree preparation course, at one of our locations.
Once you have sucessuful completed your studies you’ll progress to university to study your bachelor’s degree or master’s degree.

We offer a range of pathways that cater to different academic entry requirements and a variety of destinations.
International Foundation
The International Foundation Year (IFY) is a level 3 programme equivalent to A levels. During your study of the IFY, you will develop subject-specific knowledge and improve your academic English language skills in preparation for studying at university.
International Year Zero
The International Year Zero (IYZ) is designed to help you gain extra English Language skills and develop your subject knowledge to an undergraduate level.
International Stage One
The International Stage One is the first year of a four-year International Incorporated Bachelors. This pathway is designed to strengthen your English language abilities and introduce core concepts and knowledge required at university study level.
International Stage Two
The International Stage Two is the perfect pathway if you want an undergraduate degree from a Scottish university but do not meet the requirements for direct entry.
International Year One
The International Year One is the perfect pathway if you want an undergraduate degree from a university but do not meet the requirements for direct entry.
International Year Two
This three-term programme provides an intensive combination of more advanced subject-specific content with the opportunity to develop language and academic study skills as elements of a focused 30-credit module.
Pre-Master's
Start your pathway to a postgraduate degree through the Pre–Master’s program. If you do not meet the required qualifications for direct entry to a postgraduate degree at one of our university partners or want to improve your English language and academic skills, this pathway is the right choice for you.
