Course Overview

Build a strong foundation in chemistry by exploring organic, inorganic, physical and analytical chemistry while developing the practical skills needed for modern scientific careers. You will combine theoretical knowledge with hands-on laboratory experience, applying chemistry to solve real-world challenges across a range of industries.

Throughout the course, you will develop practical and professional skills, including:

  • Applying core chemistry principles to real-world scientific and industrial challenges
  • Using industry-standard laboratory equipment and advanced scientific instrumentation
  • Developing problem-solving skills to address issues such as climate change, infectious disease and sustainable technologies
  • Gaining valuable practical experience through an optional industry placement year

The course combines academic study with practical laboratory experience to prepare you for careers in chemistry, pharmaceuticals, materials science, environmental science and related scientific fields.
