Course Overview

Explore the relationship between nutrition, health and disease while developing the scientific knowledge needed to improve health at both individual and population levels. You will examine how diet and lifestyle influence wellbeing, gaining the practical skills to promote healthier communities and support positive health outcomes.

Throughout the course, you will develop practical and professional skills, including:

  • Understanding the nutritional role of foods, ingredients and dietary patterns
  • Exploring the impact of nutrition on cells, tissues, organs and overall health
  • Designing nutrition and public health initiatives to improve wellbeing
  • Examining how food choices affect individuals, communities and the environment

The course combines academic study with practical learning to prepare you for careers in nutrition, public health, health promotion and related sectors. It is accredited by the Association for Nutrition (AfN), allowing eligible graduates to apply for Direct Entry Registration at Associate level with the UK Voluntary Register of Nutritionists (UKVRN).
