Course Overview

Build a strong foundation in economics while exploring how economic theory and policy influence businesses, governments and society. You will examine key economic challenges using real-world data, developing the analytical skills needed to understand global markets and public policy.

Throughout the course, you will develop practical and professional skills, including:

  • Understanding economic theory and evaluating the impact of economic policies
  • Analysing issues such as inequality, environmental sustainability and financial markets
  • Applying quantitative data, statistical techniques and econometric software to real-world challenges
  • Building professional communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills through projects and placement opportunities

The course combines academic study with practical experience to prepare you for careers in economics, finance and related sectors. It is delivered by Sheffield Business School, whose business courses are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
