Course Overview

Develop a strong foundation in law while exploring the causes of crime, criminal behaviour and the wider justice system. You will combine legal studies with criminology, gaining the knowledge and practical skills needed to understand how law and criminal justice shape society.

Throughout the course, you will develop practical and professional skills, including:

  • Building expertise in law, criminology and criminal justice
  • Exploring the relationship between legal systems, criminal behaviour and society
  • Gaining practical experience through the Helena Kennedy Centre for International Justice, on-campus legal service providers and external organisations
  • Working with law firms and legal and social justice organisations, with opportunities for UK and international placements

The course combines academic study with practical experience to prepare you for careers across the legal and justice sectors. After completing the degree, you can continue your route to qualification as a solicitor through the Legal Practice Development (SQE Preparation) course.
