Course Overview
From healthcare and finance to manufacturing and digital technologies, artificial intelligence is increasingly used to improve decision-making and solve complex problems. This course develops your understanding of AI and related technologies, combining theoretical knowledge with practical application.
Throughout the programme, you will build technical and analytical skills, including:
- Applying AI and machine learning techniques to real-world challenges
- Developing software solutions for intelligent and automated systems
- Using computational methods to analyse and solve complex problems
Combining programming, mathematics and software engineering, the course prepares you for careers in artificial intelligence, data science and emerging technology sectors.
Work Placement Information
A work placement year is an optional part of your degree and is normally completed during your studies, before your final year. If you are interested in undertaking a placement, you should discuss this with your Course Director once you start your degree programme. Please note that you will need to apply for a visa extension and pay an additional placement year tuition fee. Details of placement year fees can be found on the Ulster University International Tuition Fees page.

Payment of Pathway Study Tuition Fees Your offer letter shows an initial fee that confirms your place on your chosen study preparation course and a link to Flywire so that you can make a secure payment. This initial fee is an instalment towards the overall cost of tuition fees for your study preparation course and includes a one-time non-refundable administration fee. After your CAS Letter has been issued, and before arrival or registration, you must pay your remaining first-year tuition fees in full.
