BSc (Hons) Sociology with Politics and International Studies

This degree explores how societies are shaped by social, political and global forces, combining sociological theory with political and international perspectives. You will develop a strong understanding of contemporary social issues within a global context.

You will build analytical and research skills through a range of learning experiences, including:

• Understanding social theories and global societal developments
• Collecting and analysing data to support evidence-based arguments
• Applying knowledge through projects and practical learning opportunities

With opportunities to explore your interests and gain practical experience, this course prepares you for careers in research, policy and related sectors, or progression to further study. The programme is offered at both the Belfast and Derry~Londonderry campuses.

Work Placement Information
A work placement year is an optional part of your degree and is normally completed during your studies, before your final year. If you are interested in undertaking a placement, you should discuss this with your Course Director once you start your degree programme. Please note that you will need to apply for a visa extension and pay an additional placement year tuition fee.
