Course Overview

Combining politics, international studies and criminology, this course provides insight into how societies are governed and how justice systems operate within a changing global environment. You will examine political theories, international issues and the wider social context surrounding criminal justice.

Throughout the programme, you will develop valuable analytical and transferable skills, including:

  • Understanding political ideologies, institutions and global developments
  • Examining criminal justice systems and societal challenges
  • Applying theory to real-world political and social issues

These skills are highly valued across a range of sectors, supporting careers in government, policy, research and related fields, as well as progression to further study.

Work Placement Information
A work placement year is an optional part of your degree and is normally completed during your studies, before your final year. If you are interested in undertaking a placement, you should discuss this with your Course Director once you start your degree programme. Please note that you will need to apply for a visa extension and pay an additional placement year tuition fee.
