LLB (Hons) Law with Criminology

This qualifying law degree combines the study of legal theory with criminology, helping you understand both the legal frameworks that govern society and the wider causes and impact of crime. You will explore core areas of law alongside criminological topics linked to criminal justice and social issues.

Throughout the programme, you will develop academic and professional skills, including:

• Studying core legal subjects such as public, contract, criminal and land law
• Exploring criminology topics including crime, deviance and criminal justice
• Developing critical thinking, research and communication skills through practical and academic learning

You will study within a supportive and research-informed environment that encourages the development of legal knowledge, analytical thinking and professional skills. The course prepares graduates for careers across law, criminal justice and related sectors, as well as further professional or academic study. The programme is offered at both Belfast and Derry~Londonderry campuses.

Work Placement Information
A work placement year is an optional part of your degree and is normally completed during your studies, before your final year. If you are interested in undertaking a placement, you should discuss this with your Course Director once you start your degree programme. Please note that you will need to apply for a visa extension and pay an additional placement year tuition fee.
