Course Overview

International Year One allows students to take credited SF State General Education courses alongside additional academic and English language instruction. The carefully curated credited course options allow first-year students to both discover new fields and further explore already strong subjects. Once International Year One is completed, students proceed directly to their second year of degree study at SF State.

The Graduate College of Education at SF State prepares reflective, transformative educators, clinicians, leaders and scholars who advance the professions within education. Our graduates deliver education courses across the lifespan, demonstrating excellence in the art and science of teaching and learning, research on critical issues in education and communicative disorders, integration of new technologies and commitment to equity and social justice. Professional preparation courses are designed to meet global challenges, through authentic learning experiences in academic and clinical environments that are guided by our commitment to inclusiveness, integrity, community, social action and evidence-based practice.
