Course Overview

Develop a broad understanding of human and physical geography while exploring the global issues shaping our world. You can specialise in human geography, physical geography or combine both, gaining the knowledge and practical skills needed to understand and respond to environmental and social challenges.

Throughout the course, you will develop practical and professional skills, including:

  • Investigating global issues such as climate change, disaster risk, inequality and geopolitical conflict
  • Conducting research using specialist laboratories, fieldwork and advanced technologies
  • Developing practical skills through urban and rural fieldwork in the UK and internationally
  • Gaining real-world experience through placements and opportunities to study or work abroad

The course combines academic study with hands-on learning to prepare you for careers across environmental management, planning, research and related sectors. It is accredited by the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) and the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM).
