Course Overview

Explore how sport, exercise and physical activity can improve health and wellbeing across the lifespan. You will develop the scientific knowledge and practical skills needed to design and deliver programmes that support health promotion, disease prevention and long-term condition management in a range of professional settings.

Throughout the course, you will develop practical and professional skills, including:

  • Promoting health through physical activity, sport and exercise
  • Designing programmes to improve health and wellbeing for individuals and communities
  • Understanding long-term health conditions through theoretical and practical learning
  • Applying your knowledge through placements, real-world projects and industry-based experiences

The course combines academic study with practical experience to prepare you for careers in health promotion, exercise, rehabilitation and community wellbeing. It is endorsed by the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) against its Gym Instructor and Working with People with Long Term Conditions professional standards.
