Course Overview

Mechatronic engineering brings together mechanical engineering, electronics and computer-controlled systems to create intelligent and automated solutions used across a range of industries. This multidisciplinary course helps you develop both technical knowledge and practical engineering expertise.

Throughout the programme, you will build industry-relevant skills, including:

  • Integrating mechanical, electronic and control systems
  • Designing and developing automated and intelligent technologies
  • Applying problem-solving skills to real-world engineering challenges

Work Placement Information
A work placement year is an optional part of your degree and is normally completed during your studies, before your final year. If you are interested in undertaking a placement, you should discuss this with your Course Director once you start your degree programme. Please note that you will need to apply for a visa extension and pay an additional placement year tuition fee.
