Course Overview

Renewable energy engineering is centred on developing technologies that support a more sustainable future. This course combines core engineering principles with the study of modern energy generation systems, helping you understand how renewable technologies are designed, developed and applied.
Throughout the programme, you will develop practical and technical skills, including:

  • Understanding renewable energy systems, power generation and engineering design
  • Applying knowledge of electronics, mechanics and energy technologies
  • Developing problem-solving and innovation skills for sustainable solutions

Work Placement Information
A work placement year is an optional part of your degree and is normally completed during your studies, before your final year. If you are interested in undertaking a placement, you should discuss this with your Course Director once you start your degree programme. Please note that you will need to apply for a visa extension and pay an additional placement year tuition fee.
