BEng (Hons) Renewable Energy Engineering
Course Overview
Renewable energy engineering is centred on developing technologies that support a more sustainable future. This course combines core engineering principles with the study of modern energy generation systems, helping you understand how renewable technologies are designed, developed and applied.
Throughout the programme, you will develop practical and technical skills, including:
- Understanding renewable energy systems, power generation and engineering design
- Applying knowledge of electronics, mechanics and energy technologies
- Developing problem-solving and innovation skills for sustainable solutions
Opportunity for industry placement provide valuable real-world experience, helping prepare you for careers across renewable energy and related engineering sectors.
Work Placement Information
A work placement year is an optional part of your degree and is normally completed during your studies, before your final year. If you are interested in undertaking a placement, you should discuss this with your Course Director once you start your degree programme. Please note that you will need to apply for a visa extension and pay an additional placement year tuition fee. Details of placement year fees can be found on the Ulster University International Tuition Fees page.

Payment of Pathway Study Tuition Fees Your offer letter shows an initial fee that confirms your place on your chosen study preparation course and a link to Flywire so that you can make a secure payment. This initial fee is an instalment towards the overall cost of tuition fees for your study preparation course and includes a one-time non-refundable administration fee. After your CAS Letter has been issued, and before arrival or registration, you must pay your remaining first-year tuition fees in full.
